A review of the KP in Pocklington, lodges and restaurant ideal for golf and family breaks
Sometimes you don’t have to go far to get away from it all and one night in a luxury lodge on the 180-acre woodland estate was enough to make us a feel we were a world away.
We were welcomed to the The KP, near Pocklington, with a bottle of fizz chilling on ice and a cedar clad hot tub, available outside the Huxtable Suite for our exclusive use.
With the super king-size four-poster bed barely denting the space available and doors that opened out on to a garden area, it felt a little more special than a stay in a regular hotel.
It felt a little open to view at first, but we soon realised how peaceful and quiet the area is and relaxed in the warm water.
For dinner and breakfast, the following morning, we ate at The Glasshouse restaurant on site.
It owes its name to the large windows, which allow views across the golf course and across the county.
Everything we ate was well presented and delicious – more than good enough to demand a return visit.
