A review of Sofitel hotel at Heathrow Airport for families
When we booked a holiday to Switzerland that involved travelling from London Heathrow airport, my husband, our four-year-old son and I decided to check-in to the five-star Sofitel London Heathrow to take the stress out of the situation.
Directly linked to Terminal Five, it was easy to get to after we’d dropped our car at a nearby long-stay facility – the hotel also offers parking services.
On arrival, we were swiftly checked-in by the friendly and efficient staff and we were delighted to learn we had been upgraded to a junior suite.

This was huge, with a luxuriously large bed for my husband and me and a sofa bed for our boy barely denting the space.
It also had a smart bathroom, with separate shower and bath, complete with its own TV screen. Our window gave us a great view of some of the planes coming into land, the thickly glazed windows blocking out the noise of the engines.
The room also gave us access to the hotel’s Club Millesime Lounge, where we enjoyed a couple of complimentary drinks and some delicious canapés to get us in the holiday mood.
